They simply allow you to connect with businesses on your own terms and even suggest that if you want to accept payment for placing content, you should follow Google’s rules of using nofollow with any links added in sponsored content. You can choose to place your content on blogs with active communities.

You can use Quora for free market research. It hosts millions of questions, thousands of active communities (similar to mini forums), and has a highly engaged audience.
