implementation – be it a wiki, a blogging platform, discussion forums, microblogging, or Sharepoint – fail miserably because they forgot to focus on the fundamentals. vendor out there offers a similar set of features – blogging, microblogging, wiki functionality, profiles, tagging, search, etc.

And don’t be surprised if Facebook comes up with some kind of Facebook Credits/Work Game scorecard integration. Yesterday I attended the Sharepoint geekfest at The Hilton Sydney. ENTERPRISE : contributing to an unpopular wiki subject, logging in before 9am, talking like a pirate on pirate day. cough cough*.

[link] Tad Reeves At Steve Ballmer’s keynote speech at SharePoint 2009 conference in Las Vegas, he implies that the takeup of social media will never happen in government and big business, due to corporate fears of their data being all over Facebook, etc. As you can see in the attached video, he suggests SharePoint is the answer.

Sharepoint developers implement Sharepoint, yet they don’t use it to manage the implementation. They’re just told to “give us a wiki&# or “develop a blog for me.&# Actually using the blog or wiki isn’t a requirement. As a developer, you should be expected to blog, tweet, edit wikis, etc.

is about more than wikis, open data , Twitter , Web 2.0, I spent some time on a DHS-TSA project and our secure laptops only had IE6- it was the biggest pain point of the job and it slowed productivity incredibly – how did anyone navigate 30 websites, sharepoint sites, email windows at a time pre-tabbed browsing?
