As such, links to SEMPO should include a ‘nofollow’ link, and clearly state in the article (or at the end of the article) that Motoko Hunt is a Board Member of SEMPO. All the social media sites NoFollow such links, which acts as an instruction to the search engines to not pass PageRank through those links. Here are two examples worth considering. The theory is that content that gets shared a lot in social media may be seen as more valuable content by the search engines.

If you could remove this link or add the rel=”nofollow” attribute you would make Google and me very happy. In fact, the penalty they have isn’t that severe: the site still ranks for it’s brand name, it’s company name. They will rarely give you a few examples. The link in question is here: [link].

So, Recently Google has unfolded two new attributes of the nofollow link, and from now onwards nofollow link attributes (rel=”nofollow”) would be considered as a “hint” rather than as a directive for ranking purposes.
