It isn’t uncommon to see people sharing articles on FriendFeed, including all the images from the post, and then copying the entirety of the text into the comments section. I have earlier written about comment fragmentation and why it matters from an article author’s perspective. FriendFeed specifically is troubling.

When I was having some issues adding the commenting system to my web site, I was able to quickly get a response from the JS-Kit team and their users. You can have a create a network or a group bookmarking account so that anyone can add new bookmarks, tags to existing, and add comments. Good list, use most of the tools.

The point I try to make here is that Digg will not comment nor at least acknowledge that they’re passing these messages on (even if they aren’t!) A good company leader would actually recognize that a social news network implies that there are participants involved and that the users are the most important part of the service.
