I heard this on Sunday and so just for fun I filtered every one of the newsletters and rss feeds that I never even bother to scan into a mailbox. I went into my Google reader and deleted every blog that hadn’t posted within the last 30 days. The same goes for all those Facebook event invites and friend requests.

PostRank counts “engagement events” which it defines as individual activities such as a tweet, like, comment, digg, RSS view, etc. It then assigns “engagement points” to each event; events that demonstrate a higher level of effort and engagement are given higher values. So I ran 30+ news sites through the tool.

I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. In addition, if youre a Google Readers shared items (yes, you Scoble !) or Google Reader shared feed through Yahoo Alerts. This works for any RSS feed, not just bookmarks.

June 1st : 6,866 May 31st : 7,543 Change : +677 I really don’t know what is going on (I’m still down over 1,000 Google Reader subscribers compared to usual) so that would suggest I’m at least over 8,500. But with Feedburner, who knows. I was devastated when Germany beat England but we really played poorly.
