But the new feature will hardly threaten Quora’s user base.

Social Media Network Marketing

Social Media enables you to broadcast your message to your Community and it also enables you to tag individual persons and chat with them. Social Media is an amazing environment; here you can practice the entire spectrum right from mass messaging to one-on-one messaging. If this is the case then what have we done so far with this amazing platform. Have we identified various clusters that can take place from our Fan / Business Page Communities? What we could do perhaps, is segregate our Community Members into various clusters. Inactive: Those that are not active.

Why aren’t there more women in open source (and what are you gonna do about it?)

Janet Fouts

I’m a big fan of open source and as a woman who mangles a line of code here and there, I’m constantly amazed when I see how few women there are working in the field. Now, this is not one of those boo-hoo posts (you guys are MEAN!) about poor down-trodden women getting short shrift. That’s not really my style. Instead it’s a celebration of some very cool women who work in open source right now and an invitation to you who might be thinking about working on an open source project, or making the choice to support open source projects and developers yourself.

Understand Your Site’s Traffic

ProBlogger

This guest post is by John Burnside of moneyin15minutes.co.uk. When people arrive at your blog, they’ve all come from somewhere on the World Wide Web. They could have found you on a search engine, they could have known about your site already, or they could have come from any one of a million other places. But all of these different types of visitors have a certain frame of mind when they visit your site. Almost always, they will have a different reason for coming to your site. Search engine traffic. This can affect the way that people react when they come to your site. Direct traffic.

What’s happening everyone? I am hoping that you are in a better place than I am right now. Yesterday morning I went under the knife to get my shoulder repaired and am now pretty heavily medicated and will be for the next week or so. Instead of taking advice from folks that said look at the genius of Charlie Sheen, I am taking a small break from the keyboard to recover and handing over the keys to some good friends who will offer you some awesome content that you should check out and be sure to follow them and read their blogs as well.
