WAXING UNLYRICAL MARCH 25, 2011 How to Make Your WordPress Blog Mobile Friendly This is part of the Blogging for Grasshoppers series. If you talk to Howie Goldfarb anywhere – Twitter, here on his guest posts, or over at his own blog, you’ll know that he’s fixated on one thing. It’s too easy to automate and game. There are scores of spammers, people who auto-follow without a second thought, and people who follow others to get a return follow and inflate their numbers…any number of games. Period. | FEVER BEE MARCH 25, 2011 How To Get Your Members To Invite Their Friends Asking members to tell their friends about the community never works. Members might tell their friends, but not because you asked them to. So stop asking them. It's It's vague, feels forced and doesn't benefit the referring members. BRASS TACK THINKING | FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 2011 “Don’t lipstick” and 25 Other Lessons from the Management Frontlines This is an old post of mine, but still a favorite: In my first job out of grad school I was told, in a performance evaluation no less, to “do my hair and wear more lipstick.. When it comes to management, that definitely goes in the “don’t column. Over the years, that lesson and a number of others have made their way into my consciousness as a (previously unwritten) set of “rules I use to guide my behavior as a manager. People are at the heart of any change. To make change happen, you have to have people who can make change happen. That includes you. Empower them. MORE >> -
MINDJUMPERS | FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 2011 Facebook Launches Questions Tweet Yesterday Facebook has launched Facebook Questions, which allows users and pages to post a Question to friends or a Facebook community.
