Beyond learning about your users, FriendFeed allows users to comment on content within the site itself. I actually think the links are coming from Digg and StumbleUpon. Comments there @ FriendFeed is what’s *most* intriguing to me. You can “like&# certain discoveries of your friends and even engage in a discussion.

When I was having some issues adding the commenting system to my web site, I was able to quickly get a response from the JS-Kit team and their users. You can have a create a network or a group bookmarking account so that anyone can add new bookmarks, tags to existing, and add comments. Delicious is my favorite one to use for this.

When contrasted with the StumbleUpon model, the FriendFeeds and Diggs of the world seem to have the process backwards. FriendFeed specifically is troubling.

I guess it’s assumed in social spaces that when s/he initiates the friend request, you can comment on anything on their Facebook wall or tweet back at them about something personal or even comment on a photo. That story hit the front page of Reddit and on Digg , and 67 people voted on my comment : Props to Reddit for visibly interacting with the community it serves. I still use Stumbleupon but I get frustrated with its slowness. Then, the comments seem more insightful on Reddit. The Reddit comment system is broke.
