The links from the profile page may have nofollow tags, but they will drive traffic and different search engines treat the nofollow tag differently. The bigger the social circle, the more likely your content will appear in the search results of those connected to you. People use various social media sites in different ways.

Stumbleupon. Links in comments, however, are no-follow. While comments and any links you include in your description will have the rel=”nofollow” attribute, YouTube gives you a link in your profile that is devoid of no – follow. Put it in the comments. Drives significant eyeballs all around the Web.
