All the social media sites NoFollow such links, which acts as an instruction to the search engines to not pass PageRank through those links. Participate in related communities in social media. Show that you can give as well as get – regularly share or comment on other people’s posts.

The ‘no-follow’ breaks the connection you are trying to make between one website and the next, defeating the purpose of a link from the perspective of Google optimization (people can of course still click the link and visit your site directly). Links in comments, however, are no-follow. Put it in the comments. Foursquare.

Of course, I’m able to do this because I’ve managed to grow the audience to a considerable size here at ViperChill. Even though I do such little promotion, many posts get hundreds of retweets and comments. Anything that shows community on your site is also a good thing in my eyes. The reasons why are quite simple.
