That doesn’t typically fly elsewhere (Facebook will kill the account), but Times Square on Friendster required 2 accounts at the time because I maxed out on the initial 500 person limit. The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I had many friends just like that.

The blogger (Professor Jutras) posts his ideas, occasionally throws in some editorial and takes some light, widget-fed microblogging (the current events some students share). Smaller companies could succeed with this method by marketing — verbally or through their website — to groups of devout followers and keeping their Twitter streams current (offering a daily deal or frequent deals that encourage customers to seek out discounts and sales). So while I love Facebook , Twitter fulfills many needs.

When you have a group of people submitting their work, there is an awareness that it isn’t just one idea that will work, so the result is a higher quality of work. Crowdsourcing is an useful model because it can be used by any group for any reason. Facebook Create a Facebook Page and tell everyone about it.

In the post, I shared my don’ts of social networks, and to that point, I added the following rule for LinkedIn: Gathering all the email addresses of users you are connected to — even locating email addresses of LinkedIn Group managers — and utilizing this mailing list to promote your own company or service off-site. I’d love to befriend everyone or even specify groups of friends to which I’d subscribe so that I can get updates delivered to my RSS reader (versus other updates that I would check on a more infrequent basis), though for the time being, the team has not worked that out.
