I teach classes on social media monitoring – computer classes – and the students set up iGoogle to find and monitor Media, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, images, key influencers, keywords, CEO and brand mentions and so on. I was thinking Netvibes but wondered if you have another option? Really grumpy !

If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers.

What a conversion actually is varies from site to site, but for me, my conversions were product purchases and RSS subscriptions. I also put prominent RSS hints on popular pages such as the blogs list. Now that I’m using netvibes this is no longer the case (thanks Glen). Thought about doing it for my own niche.
