Use A Bookmarklet. A bookmarklet is a tiny program (written in javascript) that fits inside a bookmark. The Official Google Reader Blog has a couple of really nice bookmarklets you can use while you web-surf. The 2nd bookmarklet can also be found on the Notes link within Google Reader. Track Google via Twitter [new].

How to get real-time news updates in Gmail (Gmail+ Google Talk + Twitter). How to blog from Gmail (Gmail + Wordpress/TypePad/Blogger + IMified). I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. This works if you blog on Blogger, Wordpress, Moveable Type or TypePad.

Writing a blog post or building links to new site is far more important than updating Twitter, reading the latest guide to blogging secrets or constantly monitoring your stats. I also love that if I block something like Twitter, then that will stop Tweetdeck from working. It’s distracting, and you’ll click around.
