For me, it all started in 2002 with an email from a friend. Okay, It was 2002 and I got this email and it had four words in it and a link. Around his voice was this community. Everyone was getting smarter as a result of not only what he was saying but the fact that there was a community there. They have an avatar.

Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. Abusing Twitter hashtags during a crisis. It’s important to understand the communities you contribute to and to understand the rules of the sites that you target. FriendFeed is a service but it’s also a community. There is no reason to make a personal request.
