To be sure, search engines do drive a lot of traffic, however, with the increasing pollution of search engines with content farms, Google’s love of big brands/big media, and the increasing amount of work required to rank for ever longer keywords, SEO is no longer worth the effort for most bloggers. It’s not that you can’t grow your site – because even ugly blogs with no about page can gain an audience – it’s just that you could probably be getting better results (more subscribers, more sales, more pageviews) from your traffic generation strategy. There are many more and a Google search will uncover plenty of smaller ones for you, but these two tend to be the most active. In cases like that I may type the phrase into Google and contact the owners of the sites on the second page. If a seller is using Google Analytics then I’ll ask to have them add me to the account.

A better long-term strategy in my opinion is to build a loyal, focused audience. Sell In-line or Text Link Ads Relying on blogging income from inline ad networks like Infolinks or text link sellers like Inlinks or Text Link Brokers is only a strategy I would recommend for blogs that don’t offer much value. Any advice would help.
