I recommend that you try a little bit of everything (including podcasting, article marketing, posting on forums, etc) and then hone in on the ones that are getting you more of the type of visitor that you want. You need to learn the theory of it all which might involve reading other blogs and books that you like.

This site was actually very successful: we quickly grew to 10,000 members, we ranked highly in Google for DJ related terms and we were even highlighted in the book DJ’ing for Dummies.
