While we all know that content is king, promotion is queen. One thing to note is some networks are sensitive about where people come from to get to the voting links for a particular article, so it may be best to encourage group members to simply go to the post and use the social bookmarking links provided to share / vote up the post.

This not only creates impact, but also allows editors to simply snip off the bottom paragraph of a story if they need space for other articles. As the final paragraph is the least important, their editing does not affect the article too much. The job of your headline is simply to get people to read the first sentence of your post.

As of now, I have Amplify set up to auto-post to Twitter, Facebook (I can sync it to either my personal or business page, or both) Google Buzz and Delicious. There are several other options, such as Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, etc… even Ping.fm. The first is that I use Amplify for different content than I blog about.

You could simply buy directory links, sponsor blog posts, and even have Wordpress themes developed which included a link to your site in the footer. I didn’t focus on directory submissions, forum links, paid links, article directories, or anything of the sort. These days however, things are very different. That was it.
