Favicons are the small icons you see in the tabs of your browser, or in the URL bar. As well as adding app icons to the home screen, you can also specify a startup/launch image. Note the startup image always has a portrait orientation. <link They add to a site’s branding, and are pretty useful for tab junkies like me.
