With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities. Topical profiles are what I’d call the new norm. I ran a sports site until just recently, and I LOVED to talk sports from that Twitter account. Call them cliques if you will. Many don’t overlap. not so much sports fans).
