SPIN SUCKS SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 Owned vs. Earned Media: Measuring the ROI Measuring the return-on-investment for paid, earned, and owned media is not an easy task. When I started my career, we measured media impressions and advertising equivalency. Somewhere along the way someone finally told the industry that was ridiculous and meant nothing. So where did that leave us? But more and more business leaders are asking us to define that directly to hard, cold cash. | MINDJUMPERS SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 How Much Content Is Enough For Your Blog? [Study] Tweet Many businesses run a blog as a part of their social media strategy. The aim is to pass on their thoughts as a corporate brand and comment on the relevant topics. But amidst the hustle bustle of the day, how do we ensure that our blog is up and running with the right amount of content inflow? What you should do. How does the posting frequency affect the traffic? What do you do? | PR AT SUNRISE SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 Do You Need Social Media Experience to Land a Job In PR? 15 years ago, heck maybe even 5 years ago, before the social sharing, and before “instant news” was wildly popular, a PR professional’s job was tricky, to say the least. However in recent years; social media has complicated things a bit. So does having social media experience help you? Sure, it probably does. That answer is rather complicated. | CONVERSTATIONS SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 Small Business Usage of Social Media [InfoGraphic] Is your business finding customers using Social Media? FRESHNETWORKS | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 Is the Facebook Brand Page now dead? One thing was notably absent from last week’s F8 conference , any discussion of Facebook Pages and how these might change. To date these have looked very similar to individual’s profiles but with the launch of the new Timeline, these now have diverged dramatically. There’s no nice way of saying this – Facebook Pages now look old and behind the times compared with the new Timeline. As a social media agency working with brands, we’re actually disappointed. There is so much scope for creativity with Timelines we’d love Pages to be structured in the same way. MORE >> -
UNSPOKEN | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 Is Klout Really Accessing Your Protected Tweets? Last week I wrote, “Klout Story Part 1 – Are you reading between the lines? ” , which concentrated on some of Klout’s privacy issues. Klout’s Marketing Manager, Ms. Megan Berry , commented on my post and disputed my claim that privacy might be at risk. In her reply she said that Klout gathers public information to create a Klout profile and that they don't breach any privacy issue by doing so. Megan stated, “ If you want your Tweets to only be available to approved followers , you can set your account to protected. Is she right? Widikidiw – Klout. MORE >> -

TWIST IMAGE | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 It's Not Marketing Confession time. few months ago I found myself on a long flight with nothing to watch. had already seen the many Hollywood blockbusters along with the documentaries and news specials that were being shown on-board. In a moment of weakness, I decided to watch the Justin Bieber documentary, Never Say Never. thought Never Say Never was a live "concert" film mingled with some backstage footage of the teen heartthrob blow drying his hair, playing Xbox with Usher or clips of young girls professing their love to The Bieb. It's not cynicism. Crying. The movie captivated me. true musician. MORE >> -
