In the comments for one of these posts, someone gave me the idea of analysing different industries to see the average post length in each, so they could gauge how long their articles should be. Sites in industries like Marketing, Finance and Personal Development post less (1-7 times per week) but write much longer articles.

I grew PluginID to a readership of over 4,000 subscribers in a year then sold it when it had around 6,500 and of course I’m now having a lot of success with ViperChill and really establishing myself in this industry. They simply read it because they like seeing a big blog case study unfold before them.

However, for small industries, the sites that rank rarely have an unbeatable backlink count. I Build a Website Around That Product Once I have chosen an industry and found a product I want to promote, I then go and build a website around that product. These are all industries where there is something new to write about every single day. Each of these sites can produce so much content because they’re each in industries where there is a lot to say.

If you’re going to use any of the tools below, I recommend you use them not only to give you an overview of your projects, but as indicators as to what you can change to increase your conversions. With Google Analytics, you would see huge traffic spikes the next day, and miss the opportunity to maximise conversions on that traffic.
