As a blogger, there are numerous tools at your disposal to track how your content is doing. Because if you are creating content, you are likely distributing and promoting that content in variety of ways, including social media. Enter: PostRank. It isn’t that we need a tool that does everything.

I’m always looking to grow my readership through creating helpful, informative and entertaining content, marketing such content, and engaging with like minded readers. I haven’t quite figured out my lack of success their as much, but it probably has to do with the types of articles I choose to write.

I’m going to test whether this selection can be automated to some extent (thereby creating an example of how YOU can save time should you want to use PostRank rankings for your own association curating!). At the end of the day, driving eyeballs to my blog isn’t really the ultimate goal, writing useful and appreciated content is. These were the top 10 visited blog articles I wrote in the past year. Most achieved a Postrank of higher then 6, and 9 out of the 10 articles dealt with social media.

A prime example is this article on Aston Kutcher who is wildly admired for his Twitter fan base. Now, as I said in an earlier blog post, you should use several different metrics to dig deeper into your audience and see what’s really happening with the content your sharing. But is number of users the best metric to track?
