We’ve become stingy with links because we want to keep our readers on our own pages, viewing our AdSense ads and buying through our affiliate links. We allow links in the comments, but we nofollow them so no link juice escapes. We’ll put the odd blog in our blogroll, if we even have one. It has to change. Not at all.

Personal Update I recently noticed that ViperChill was regularly being shown on the first page of Google for the phrase ‘viral marketing’ While I haven’t pushed hard to rank for this phrase, I have optimised the site around that term. Home What the F ? Cloud Living Say "Hi!" You could say that we prefer signal over noise.

June 1st : 6,866 May 31st : 7,543 Change : +677 I really don’t know what is going on (I’m still down over 1,000 Google Reader subscribers compared to usual) so that would suggest I’m at least over 8,500. The time on site also increased slightly so that shows the quality of traffic was higher. But with Feedburner, who knows.

Some success is from sites I purchased which were ranking on the first few pages of Google and I built some great links to get them on the first page. Ranking for how to lose weight fas t is much easier than how to lose weight because less people are optimising for that term and it will take less links to get on the first page of Google.
