I am not sure if Google has done this on purpose, but some links that are posted in Google Plus are automatically tagged with a nofollow link attribute, meaning that there is not any search engine optimization value added to the link. It is a “nofollow” link: Click on the image above it in order to enlarge it.

The type of links displayed are: NoFollow – These links pretty much have no value to your website in terms of SEO. For example, most links from blog comments are NoFollow because too many spammers were using comments to get links. It is also a great tool to monitor how your competition is doing when it comes to link building.

We have reached a point in late 2010 where the work required to generate traffic for a normal blog via search engines is much greater than that required to generate an equal amount of traffic via social media. The authority that Darren has developed over the years would stay with him, even if he moved to a new domain.
