Most of the growth did not just come from StumbleUpon but there was a huge increase in search engine traffic as well. Although the site received more traffic than last month, a lot of it was from sources like StumbleUpon which doesn’t convert very well, so the ratio of traffic to subscribers doesn’t really match up.

Personal Update I recently noticed that ViperChill was regularly being shown on the first page of Google for the phrase ‘viral marketing’ While I haven’t pushed hard to rank for this phrase, I have optimised the site around that term. For me it’s showing at #8 for Google UK. To our success in May!

Overall Traffic Visits : 19,777 Pageviews : 37,173 Avg time on Site : 3 mins 06 seconds The traffic has taken a large dip from last month, purely because StumbleUpon sent 22,000 visitors in January and just 1,600 in February. I’m curious if you are an active StumbleUpon user yourself, and how valuable you find SU traffic to be.

Pageviews Month 4 saw a huge amount of traffic from StumbleUpon hence the uneven growth. I don’t really rate traffic from StumbleUpon so it’s nice to see only a small portion of visitors from the site made up the 72,000 pageviews for March. You could say that we prefer signal over noise. Whilst StumbleUpon can send you thousands of visitors in a single day, I can guarantee that less than one percent of that traffic would buy a product if they were to suddenly land on your website.
