Hey Sean – Thanks for all the guidance you provide through your articles. I’d like to get more referral traffic, but I’d rather focus on writing for my own blog, rather than giving my content away to others. Am I being selfish about my content? Are the back-links from other sites worth it? Make sense?

Google employee “Inbal” later provided a more specific time window, indicating “the rate at which we recrawl may vary, but we try to go back and check for changes in article content within the first 12 hours after we first find it.” I went looking for an updated story in Google News today and was able to find an example.

Most content screams into an empty universe. It's nice to create content with the intent of reaching a broad and targeted audience, but it's becoming harder and harder to do this. No matter how good the content is. Content is short. Content is long. Content is text, images, audio and video.
