They have discussion forums that are visited by moderators who merely police the content itself, but change never comes from suggestions offered in the forum itself or in the posts, even if hundreds of users contribute the same identical observations. That’s fine, but they lose sight of the fact that this is social media.

The blogger (Professor Jutras) posts his ideas, occasionally throws in some editorial and takes some light, widget-fed microblogging (the current events some students share). I see this seminar as a forum. In a forum, some threads get “stuck&# to the top and are thus afforded more visibility. I see this seminar as a blog.

On a particular forum I am active on (yes, I still use them!), Sadly, this person’s post was pulled by the strict moderators on that forum; the post was purely self-promotional and nothing but. If you’re only on the forum to tell other people to visit your website or to use your product, you won’t go far.
