Pre-installed with WordPress, new users need to follow directions on the Plugins page to sign up for a WordPress.com account, and copy the API code into the plugin management page. What was your success rate when it comes to convincing people to post a link to your RSS feed? I use a Twitter landing page and I have increased my RSS by using it. That means you’re awesome.

Bloggers who are compensated can use the “nofollow&# tag within their outbound links to keep those links from being tagged by Google as paid content. The nofollow may well make that harder, but then again, if you are under contract I think it’s the buyer’s responsibility to track the postings of the paid blogger.

If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers.

I remember the days when traffic from the service would only have a 30% bounce rate, and while it’s around 80% now, a percentage of visitors still leave comments and sign-up to your RSS feed which is what most people want them to do. Maybe you need to make your RSS more clear (like I mentioned on our coaching call) in the left sidebar.

The solution I implemented on PluginID (which made between $200-$300 per month) was by using the OIOPublisher plugin (paid – not an affiliate link) for Wordpress. It’s completely up to you whether to show advertisers this, and either way you can still see the statistics from your Wordpress Dashboard. Any advice would help.
