It has come to my attention that not every blogger knows about or uses PostRank. You see, PostRank is one of the tools that AdAge uses to determine their Power 150. It gives you pageviews, how long a person spent on the page, “engagement events, Twitter, comments, Facebook likes, Delicious bookmarks, and linkbacks. My mission today is to change that!

In short, PostRank endeavors not only to show you how much TRAFFIC you got, but how many times a particular post was talked about. Most obvious of these is Google Analytics.

While I’ve been able to grow my audience and blog traffic, my engagement and back links are a little less then to be desired. It doesn’t surprise me though as this is a direct result of a lack of time. To improve my engagement I simply need to comment more on other like minded blogs. As much as I enjoy doing this, it’s a time thing. My blog often stresses me out.

My initial reaction (and it’s also in the comment that I left over on the Klout blog post, since I didn’t think it fair to simply write about it here and not comment there as well) is … that it’s very pretty. Here I go again: Klout does not equal Clout. And while it may in the future, it certainly does not right now. Klout. It’s ridiculous. You know why?

So we’ve been testing Google analytics, Clicky, and PostRank to track our leads. Ninety percent of them read the comments. A couple of weeks ago, Marcus Sheridan hosted his second webinar for Spin Sucks Pro. It was a follow-up to his first webinar on creating content for pull PR and marketing. You can easily see what content on your competitors blogs are getting popular and where. If you sign up for the PostRank Analytics service, you can incorporate Google Analytics data with social engagement metrics.
