Both stations are active on Facebook, which seemed to be much more popular than Twitter with most of the stations I talked to at PRPD. Most felt that their listeners were on Facebook more than other platforms. They also ask users to post questions for the band on Facebook and ask them on air.

I like to say Google+ combines the best of Twitter and Facebook on one network. With Google+ you can toss off a quick comment on a link you’ve shared and find thoughtful commentary building on it for days, in a threaded format just like Facebook and popular forums. Well yeah, but how does it make you look that you’ve got a profile with no bio, no link to learn more, no picture and one post in 2007? Make the decision to delete the account or not based on how useful the site is.

When crafting a strategy for nonprofits, don’t assume the folks who ‘like’ you in Facebook are also going to follow you on Twitter or take the same type of actions.
