As the first Google I/O with the Google+ Team, and a serious read/write API yet to launch, I predict we are about to see an explosion of social apps at a level we haven't seen since Facebook's F8 Conference in 2007 when they launched their platform to the world. Some may not be aware of this, but previous to Facebook's 2007 F8 conference, they too had an API very similar to the state of Google+'s API today. To take advantage of the Google Reader downtime they’ve turned off free accounts (which didn’t allow more than 64 feeds) so this may come back in the future. Though they’re more focused on expensive social analytics, they’ve recently relaunched free accounts do allow feed tracking. had signed up for Twistory way back in late 2007 and added it to Google Calendar. why not just subscribe to your own twitter feed in google reader? To get your own Tweets you have to feed a search with your own account otherwise you get every Tweet you follow. Pretty sure feeds dont get indexed Google. Trying it now, except Google Calendar is maddeningly slow to update from external feeds. Have the same problem with my Facebook Events calendar feed going into Google Calendar though, so its not unexpected. why stop at your twitter feed? Very cool. MORE >>
