The backlink profile is located at the Site Explorer section and it’s probably the most valuable feature of Ahrefs. It lets you run an analysis of the links to your website from external sites. The type of links displayed are: NoFollow – These links pretty much have no value to your website in terms of SEO.

The first plan of action would be to check the type of penalty imposed. Use the Manual actions tab to determine the type of penalty levied on your web portal. Click on the “search traffic” tab which will guide you to the option of “Links to Your Site”, followed by ‘more’ link under the ‘Who links the most’ tab.

When you’re thinking about domain names for affiliate sites, its best to be as relevant as possible, but also choose something brandable. As with most domains these days, mine was of course already taken. I did check out the site and, typically, it was used for nothing but ads. Good stuff!

You could simply buy directory links, sponsor blog posts, and even have Wordpress themes developed which included a link to your site in the footer. The top results for most keyphrases are either a Wikipedia page, a site that is very focused around community, or a clear leader in an industry.

I like to focus on building search engine traffic to my sites because once you have rankings you can usually sustain them with little effort and the traffic they send is very targeted. Some success is from sites I purchased which were ranking on the first few pages of Google and I built some great links to get them on the first page.

I have decided that instead of starting multiple sites in fairly uncompetitive niches, I’m going to go for a ‘biggie’ I’m going to go for a niche that is highly profitable, but also ultra competitive. Sites that make less than $10,000 a month tend to be sold for around 12 – 18 months revenue.
