Besides major usability issues , duplicate stories submissions , and ads that literally scream at you , Digg has yet another issue to deal with: privacy. I figure if you want private communication, go to IM. Plus, the privacy is only one way (incoming only). I was responding to Kelly who says that the privacy is still one way.

A member of my religious community disappeared. These terrifying statistics make me wonder if it’s time to change given that our privacy is starting to diminish. After having read the immensely resourceful book, The Facebook Effect , I’m starting to understand how our world is changing thanks to social networks.

My uncle knows a young girl from his community, a recent college graduate, who is looking for a social media job. Those of you who read Techipedia regularly know that I won’t add you as a Facebook friend if I don’t know you. When she found out I was his niece, she became ecstatic. Not yet, at least.

Google is also starting to integrate “+1’s” into AdWords results, just as Facebook has integrated “likes” into Facebook ads. This is broadly defined to include anything from unclear landing pages, a lack of a privacy policy, misleading ads, or unclear billing practices. Need I go on? Like this post?

That doesn’t typically fly elsewhere (Facebook will kill the account), but Times Square on Friendster required 2 accounts at the time because I maxed out on the initial 500 person limit. The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I had many friends just like that.

After all, Facebook could eat the web. In fact, you’re likely spotting the shift; instead of companies posting their URLs on television commercials, they’re asking their followers to join them on Facebook. Don’t use a Facebook Group. Your Facebook Page should be created under your primary Facebook login.

Some even boast high rankings and good sized communities. It took me 6 months to acquire a good amount of traffic and cultivate a community on my blog and the same goes for any new blogger. Thirdly, get social and join social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and StumbleUpon to connect with people and make friends!
