Everyone’s talking about the launch of Togetherville , a social network designed to bring parents and their kids together with the goal of learning responsible social networking. Any serious adult user of Twitter, Facebook, or MySpace knows these sites are both social and anti-social.

I am fascinated by the amount of social networks that I’m part of, but better yet, I’m intrigued to find that I assume different “personas,&# at least in terms of choosing friends (and using the networks), on each social site.

The site will go down in smoke and enter my consciousness as yet another social networking site that I was once a participant, along with SixDegrees.com , GeoCities , assorted LPMud s, and others. When the news feed arrived at Facebook , Friendster (and Myspace) began to die. And so it goes. Thanks for reading R.I.P. Friendster.

Whenever I present or give classes on monetizing social networks and online communities people usually have two questions. SMS other social networks are built on SMS revenues such as SMSFun. Real World Events Music labels, film studios pay MySpace for record launches and Secret Shows. 20 million?

Take your email lists, and use Flowtown to determine who within your customer base has a Facebook account. That’s a good starter list for Mass Influencers. What an awesome way to make some sense out of the often amazingly confusing behemoth of social media and particularly social networking sites. Good stuff.
