NoFollow Certain Pages I did say there may be some tactics that people frown upon in this post, and this is the first. The Nofollow attribute was first introduced by search engines to help stop spam on the web from ranking in search results. Similarly, I nofollow links to my about page, my category links and my RSS feed.

Should we include the rel=”nofollow” by default? Depending on the scale of what you’re doing with infographics, you might want to put a rel=”nofollow” on those as well” What can I do if someone – like my competition – is trying to harm me with bad backlinks?

As it takes a lot of energy and effort to generate good quality back links, make sure an expert who knows the difference is at the helm of process. Avoid posting links on random or affiliated websites rather nofollow the link or remove them. How to stop low quality links? Spammy links should not be confused with natural links.

Leaving more comments on blogs you read regularly does two major things: it gives you a link back to your site (no matter what your stance on “rel=nofollow” is), and it starts a conversation with the site owner or author of the post. Focus your energy on those things that really matter. Leave more comments. Do something ridiculous.

Bloggers who are compensated can use the “nofollow&# tag within their outbound links to keep those links from being tagged by Google as paid content. The nofollow may well make that harder, but then again, if you are under contract I think it’s the buyer’s responsibility to track the postings of the paid blogger.

Because of this, you not only need to work on something you love in order to have the energy to keep going, but you also need to make sure you don’t stop once you get started. If you try and build a website based on money and commission and what’s cool, you’ll end up losing interest and energy very quickly.

Blogger hides said compensation to maintain appearance of independence and not taint the story with “pay per post&# energy. Problem: Advertiser pays blogger for specific reviews or specific trips, knowing that they will get better than blind coverage.
