Character counts: When we’re using Twitter or SMS text messages, we are limited to a certain number of characters and this tends to lead to a lot of creativity. I get this, but I don’t get why I see these same abbreviations in emails or other communications. Even when you spell it that way often, it’s still wrong.

The platforms and devices used to communicate continue to fragment: multiple email accounts, social networks, chat, SMS etc.

After Google Voice and its third-party apps were turned down by Apple due to “it duplicating features that the iPhone comes with (Dialer, SMS, etc),&# Google built a completely browser-based app , avoiding the restrictions and not having to split the profits. You know what’s not a good idea? Pissing off Google.)

I am so proud of the glimpses we saw of the Aussie blogging community, which is on a par with anything I’ve seen in other parts of the world. That was until ten minutes before he arrived, when I got an SMS message that he was on the way. The quality was high. Big props also to my team on the day.

Also, 73% of Twitter users send SMS text messages multiple times per day. I sat in on today's webinar and took some mental notes about what was most surprising (I may have even tweeted out a few). I wonder if this has to do with the correlation between the black community and musicians. population. Our lists were similar.

You have to create content, be part of many communities, and proceed incrementally. Too often we see social media strategies that involve putting photos into Flickr, videos into YouTube or the creation of a Facebook application and then never revisiting the environment to engage with the communities around this content.
