Instead, I’m going to go back to my favourite type of marketing: affiliate marketing. After researching my market, I found a competitor in the exact same niche I have chosen who made around $3,000,000 (that’s 3 million dollars) last year with a very basic but product orientated website. More specifically, I’ve feared that I would run out of blog post ideas. You can find blogs that will give you a few link building tips each week and then I go ahead and write 15 in one post. You will find blogs with tips here and there on Wordpress SEO , and I go and write what I think is the only guide you’ll ever need.

Let’s put it this way: I’m far more likely to link to my best friend in a blog post than a random blogger and I’m far more likely to send my favourite cousin a copy of my new product for free than someone I don’t know. Now, he gets links from me in blog posts. You don’t talk to people you don’t like.

It’s also very common for bloggers who apologise for their infrequent posting to quickly find themselves at a stage where their blog does not get updated at all. In July for example, I only wrote one blog post, but consistently had over 1,000 people per day landing on my articles. This won’t be the case.

In a typical scenario I would have no blog subscribers, no ‘popular posts’ and I would be a total nobody in the space. I would probably struggle to rank this site for anything which gets thousands of searches per month unless there was some amazing service attached to it, it was my brand name, or I was running a blog.
