According to Compete.com, traffic to the site did fall off sharply in February and March of 2011 after an initial surge, but has rebounded to new highs since then (though half a million unique visitors per month isn’t particularly impressive for a social media site). Will it go the way of MySpace?

So the question is–are there things that today’s B2B marketers can learn from history, specifically, the tremendous success of Facebook and the rise, fall and possible resurrection of Myspace? From its founding, Myspace took off like a rocket ship while Facebook had a much slower ascension from launch. My answer is certainly–yes!

Ask Yahoo, MySpace or … , all major networks that ruled heavily at one time and all which fell from grace to other up and comers. According to numbers cited on The Inquistir , in April Facebook witnessed 158 million US unique visitors, only 5% higher than 2011 numbers. The fact is, no one is bullet proof.
