My thesis is simple: for the majority of bloggers, the time and effort invested on social media is better spent than time spent on SEO. This doesn’t bode well for bloggers, however. Google had zero idea about these backlinks until a blogger who previously had zero readers wrote about it. And it’s not like he’s trying to build them now, he published them back in 2006 and 2007.
