It wasn’t until recently however that I realized the potential of utilizing Linked In Groups to drive blog traffic. In comparison, Twitter comes in at 14% and Facebook at 9%. For those of you not using Linked In Groups, here are the steps to take that will immediately give your blog or website a traffic boost.

Get Serious About Twitter – Many people just stick with Facebook and never think Twitter is worth their time. If used properly, Twitter can be a great tool to establish yourself professionally, grow an audience, and network. Use tools like Hootsuite , Hootlet and TwitrBackgrounds.com to get up and running.

Hell, even I’m guilty of over saturating my twitter feed with social media tweets. Automate Twitter – Many people immediately balk at the idea of using tools that automate some of the tasks with Twitter. I see Twitter as a tool that can work in a variety of different ways for people. Worth every penny, hands down.

You get access to usual stats around followers, tweets, mentions and retweets for Twitter as well as fans, comments, mentions and likes for your Facebook page. In addition, Crowdbooster also was able to comb through my following and identify a group of high influencers based on their Klout score that recommended me connecting with as well.

The group is very unique in that it’s a Mac product within the halls of Microsoft. All you have to do to be eligible is to follow the officeformac twitter account and you are entered to win. Zaaz is a tremendous group of smart, talented people that I’ve had a blast working with. The contest is open through 2/25.

As of this blog post, the Office for Mac twitter account is closing in on 8,000 followers after a few weeks of going live. Obviously a good thing, and part of that success is certainly the group’s ability to be in the conversations. It’s been a great run, and I’m wrapping up my time with the group.
