I do visit my own Twitter and Facebook accounts a few times a week, mainly as an analogy to reading the newspaper — to learn what stories and videos everyone is liking and sharing, and to keep updated on trends. But I’m not replying to people or sharing their content.

They’re also retweeting dozens of people who are loving the #KotexForReal hashtag that is seen at the end of the above video (that’s aired numerous times on TV). Over on Twitter, the company is known as @Kotex and their page is ripe with similar questions as Facebook. I tweeted my reaction. Last I checked, I’m a guy.

That blog article of his is nicely written, by the way, and is about the negative backlash to Groupon’s lack of an apology about that company’s Superbowl videos. I joined them. Then, I watched the Chatter.com commercial. Around halftime, I saw an enigmatic commercial about Chatter.com. I wonder what’s next.

I wonder if she creates a video and uploads it to YouTube after every blog post, too. I wonder if she also thumbtacks a printout of each blog post on the bulletin boards of every coffeehouse in town. I wonder if she faxes a copy of that printout to every church and media organization, and calls all of her friends to click over and visit.

Whether you have 100 fans, 1,000 fans, or 30,000 fans, you notice that every time you post an update that is shared among those fans’ walls, a small percentage are liking, commenting, and sharing. You grow frustrated so you change the format of the updates. Same response.
