Blogging helps you build community (especially via comments), establish thought leadership, bring links to your website (both internally, perhaps to products or to other articles on your blog, and externally, when people like what you say and opt to link to you), and get you some nice traffic. Drive Leads through LinkedIn. Offer value.

What amazes me is that Andrew, with no idea of where this was headed, took the initiative to build an extremely successful community. Recently, I’ve made a point to personally respond (and with no message templates) to each private message and feedback item that comes in. They’re Quizlet’s biggest asset.

If the website looks low-quality – with ugly flashing advertisements, overload of Google Adsense and a cheap looking template – a visitor will instantly assume that whatever they are selling is also likely to be junk. Share this on LinkedIn. First appearance is everything. A website needs to look professional and relevant.

Don’t you think blogger can look professional if you switch to your domain name and follow the (less is more approach) on your template? Patience is required in building a community, seeing real results with monetization and building traffic. Some people are able to build a community but fail at monetizing their blogs.

It really is a community. I think what delights me most about Amplify is that there really is a community sense to it. Ive only been active for a few weeks but find it is still a community that fosters interactions amongst a wide assortment of individuals who bring different backgrounds and experiences to share with one another.
