The easiest way to find these people is to find the communities that your users frequently visit, be it forums, Twitter, or other social networks. get Twitter mentions of your brand via RSS or email) or use a service like Backtype (backtype.com) to see comments across blogs and other social media sites (such as FriendFeed).

As Tamar pointed out, it’s a social news site, not a network and I could care less about how often profiles are updated. All this stuff you can do with your friends now…except browse their submitted stories in a normal fashion?? social networking site. There are already too many. Is there any?

They are interested in this new “social media” thing but haven’t actually dipped their proverbial toes in the social waters yet. However, the CEO read an article in Adage, and as a result, he wants to hit social ground running. Calling attention to social profiles? Calling attention to mobile apps?
