Your comparison is apples to oranges. Again, apples and oranges. In the same line, I really think that automated anything (sentiment, response, analysis) is a wrong paradigm for social. No matter how much of an Apple fan boy you are, you likely wouldn’t mind a young group of impoverished kids in India making the next big thing in the smartphone space. Yet the sentiment is true — writing, especially long form, is hard work, and the work doesn’t end when the words are completed. On the other hand, in Internet Marketing, you sure can, so I wonder if it’s an apples-to-oranges comparison. I may badly paraphrase and source the quote. Probably not.

Sentiment: How much are you willing to automate verse check by hand? First: your analysis would have been better had you added the caveat that your list is strictly your opinion and not a formal methodology that allowed a true apples to apples comparison. I have actually heard this exact sentiment from several companies and agencies recently, wondering whether they should increase their Facebook efforts because the size of the member community is just so overwhelming. Despite their size you would have to think that a Google, Apple or Microsoft could still buy them without blinking.
