Juniper Research has released its top ten wireless predictions for 2011, let’s step through and take a look at where they think mobile is going in the coming year. Juniper believes 2011 will see the first cloud-based mobile operating systems launched. Word has it that Google will launch it’s Chrome cloud OS in early 2011.

Or based on the phone GPS co-ordinates that are sent with the tweet to Twitter. Doesn’t work if they are on a computer or they block GPS location on their phone. Many Twitter mobile phone clients that use the GPS location of the phone may auto-update the Twitter bio from the phone’s location based software.

As long as you have a mobile device with GPS identification and the ability to visit a website, you can play. Are Facebook and Twitter less important in 2011 as they were in 2009? Recent comments I really like the idea of the game/GPS, custom apps, etc., The social networking icons are not flashed on the screen.

In 2014 ambient patent (filed 2011). For example, if a user’s GPS indicates he is in a movie theatre, the device may automatically turn off its ringer. Imma gonna go with “yes” “For example, GPS devices often do not function indoors. Useful yes. Bloody ringtones in a movie theatre.

It may (but I'm bullish on it continuing), and this year will be a year where consumers will be even more social than they were in 2011. Through mobile (which are GPS-enabled) and other innovations, there will be a much bigger push to deliver services to the consumer where they physically are in much more effective ways. More global.
