Brands get pages too – and an iPhone application makes it a lot easier for people to participate. In addition, a rating system lets the users score brands and products and they have the possibility of leaving comments as well. Each user gets a profile page on the site, and they can also connect as friends. Location-based check-in model.

The new app is launched on iPhone and Adroid, and behind this new social networking app we find former Lala CEO Bill Nguyen and former BillShrink CEO Peter Pham. However, a part of this might be caused by the fact that the company received $41 million in pre-launch venture funding from Sequoia Capital, Bain Capital and Silicon Valley Bank.

The new Facebook service is being rolled out in the US on iPhones, but is unfortunately not yet available on other countries. It will be highly interesting to see how location will be used from now when knowing how comprehensive Facebook is. Facebook will make the service available in more countries and on more mobile platforms in the future.

I normally use Tweetdeck , go directly to Twitter’s website or access Twitter from my iPhone (love how easy it is to swap back and forth between links, profiles, direct messages and lists). The problem here is that TicknTalk opens up in a sidebar and takes up too much space in the web browser.
