I currently use the following format: Some people like to have categories in there but I like to keep URL’s as short as possible.

Around two years ago I had over 350 feeds in there as I was a total information junkie.

Attractionhowto.com is a really terrible website and doesn’t even have the six pages I counted unless you include their RSS feed. Forexreviewlink.com is right up there on hundreds of profile sites with their URL post on all of them. Should they just type in their Name + URL, Keyword + URL or Name | Keyword + URL?

Tweak the Permalinks – Permalinks are simply the URL’s of your blog posts and pages. By default, your URL’s are setup like [link] which isn’t very pretty and doesn’t give an indication to what the page is about. In Settings >> Permalinks I use the custom option and type %postname%.

I remember the days when traffic from the service would only have a 30% bounce rate, and while it’s around 80% now, a percentage of visitors still leave comments and sign-up to your RSS feed which is what most people want them to do. I ran a DJ blog which I later let die due to other interests and I even ran ViperChill for a year (a long time ago) without getting one single comment or feed subscriber. Naomi Dunford at Ittybiz doesn’t show her feed count (though it’s high) but instead shows the number of monthly visitors she gets in a nice graphic.

I went from having over 150 blogs in my feed reader in the last few years to just 12, purely because I was seeing the same content over, and over (and over) again. Simply change the tag in the URL to whatever you write about and you’ll find popular content around that topic. BTW, nice post. Well done once again, Glen!
