You’d be surprised at how many existing links (both internal and external) may be pointing to incorrect or discontinued URLs. A good way to investigate this is to review the Crawl Errors report in Google Webmaster Tools, which shows URLs with 404, 500 and other errors that Google encountered while crawling the site.

You can see what I mean in the following example. Latest blog post links are nofollow. Edit your general settings and add your RSS feed in the Blog XML Feed URL field. But vBulletin-powered forums have the option for a third-party add-on that allows members to place an RSS feed in their forum profile.

This means that the blog owner as well as other commenters will be able to see the kind of content you write which means a lot more clicks to your site than just the simple website URL you leave on a standard comment form.

You fill in your name, email address (which only the blogger can see) and your blog’s URL, as well as writing the comment itself. And by default most WordPress comments sections apply the “nofollow” attribute to all links, so there’s no point in commenting just to create a backlink to your blog. #3:

You can use the settings option for WP RSS Aggregator to configure features such as limit the number of posts shown on each page, limit the number of feed items stored from each feed source, make the links nofollow, and whether you would like the new links to open in a new page. Add “feed” to your author page URL.

And yes, you need a mixture of both Dofollow and Nofollow links, because that’s what natural link building looks like. How do you know whether a blog is Do or Nofollow? Personally, I use SEOBook Toolbar (free download), which has a function to highlight Nofollow links on any given page. How does that play out in comments?

Permalinks Permalinks are simply the URL’s for your posts. p=38 but if you look at the URL for this post you will see [link] I’ll let you decide which one you think looks better. I currently use the following format: Some people like to have categories in there but I like to keep URL’s as short as possible.
