Adding the “ Authorship&# tag &# to syndicated posts will allow users to follow specific authors and list your content on the +1 tab of your Google profile.

Should you start a Google+ page for your business?

A page doesn’t get notifications by email, text or in the Google+ bar, so it’s hard to keep on top of your discussions. Unless you’re a big brand with Google Direct Connect you don’t own the page name. If that person leaves the company they still “own” the page. Apply here. Macy’s.
