Here are some of my quick tips to get you started… Know Thyself – The question isn’t “Who to you want to be on Twitter?&# , it is “Who do you want to be online?&# Leaving the default avatar in place is the kiss of death in terms of getting people to follow you. Yeah, I don’t really know what you’re wearing, or not, when you’re actually tweeting, but please put some clothes on that avatar. You have the default Twitter avatar or are using a photo of your dog. You talk about yourself endlessly. You don’t get that authenticity is a key component of social media success.

I follow many of these other tips in my own ways, and it all centers around one idea: write for the readers. I'll have to check my Google numbers, all that good stuff. May seem simplistic, but your blog audience has come to you for a reason: they have a question, an interest, a need and was directed to your blog.
