The first tweet ever, posted by co-founder @Jack Dorsey read: “just setting up my twttr.” and really set the tone for future tweets.

As an example, I followed two major news aggregators for awhile, but the updates were just too frequent for my needs. Since FriendFeed aggregates numerous social networks, it can give you a lot more information about its users, especially with regards to how and when they engage with online content. FriendFeed isn’t just an aggregator, though. This way if I go to digg/reddit/SU before Friend Feed, I don’t see duplicates.

Now that Friendfeed aggregates every social site you use (for the most part — they’re still missing some ), anyone can see that you’ve just thumbed up that article on how to find porn behind a WebSense firewall even though you may have done it as a favor to your friend. In one case because of privacy issues. Answers Yahoo!

The reason is that people didn’t have aggregate power: they were individual voices that a news channel or a company can choose to ignore. Anyone can visit online meeting places like Digg and Reddit and promote the voices and opinions of others, and anyone can mobilize a group of people around a common cause on Facebook or elsewhere.
